Bobyard 2.0 Unveiled: Accelerated Takeoff Workflows and Unified AI Workbench
Bobyard, the AI platform, has recently introduced Bobyard 2.0, its latest platform update geared towards enhancing construction and landscaping estimators’ efficiency in the industry. The new version aims to streamline takeoff workflows and provide a cohesive AI workbench to cater to the daily needs of estimators.
Accelerating takeoff operations, a crucial aspect of project estimation involving detailed material and quantity analysis, can significantly reduce the risk of errors that may occur with manual measurements. By speeding up this process, contractors can mitigate costly surprises during the construction phase.
Features of Bobyard 2.0
Bobyard 2.0 integrates materials and their costs through a ‘measure first, price later’ approach, designed to save time and minimize errors from initial takeoff to finalized bids.
The introduction of the Multi-Measure feature allows estimators to draw once, eliminating the need to create separate lines or shapes for calculating area, perimeter, or total volume. This feature generates all related measurements simultaneously, reducing the manual measurement workload.
Bobyard has also consolidated its AI tools into an AI Workbench, which includes a Review Workflow option enabling estimators to verify and adjust AI outputs before incorporating them into their takeoff process.
Another notable update is the Legend Manager, offering users a dedicated space to create and manage symbol and pattern legends. The Text Count feature allows users to convert text labels in drawings into count measurements.
According to Bobyard, the platform ensures a seamless transition from takeoff to a production-ready estimate without the need for manual rebuilding or exporting to Excel. This streamlined process allows users to move swiftly from takeoff to estimate without any interruptions.
Enhancements in navigation, including cross-page search functionality, have been introduced to enhance user experience. The workflow from takeoff to final estimates has been streamlined, ensuring a hassle-free experience without the need to switch tools.
Bobyard secured a $35 million Series A funding last year, spearheaded by 8VC with Pear VC and Caffeinated Capital.
The platform currently automates up to 70% of the quantity and material takeoff process, with contractors reporting a 65% reduction in takeoff times. Estimators are submitting three to five times more bids, resulting in improved margins and win rates. Michael Ding, the founder and CEO of Bobyard, emphasized that customer feedback drove every change in the platform.
Marty Grunder, founder of The Grow Group and Grunder Landscaping, praised the AI tools for significantly reducing takeoff times on real projects. He highlighted the unmatched capabilities of Bobyard in enhancing estimating processes.
Launched initially for landscaping contractors on April 8, Bobyard 2.0 is set to expand to additional construction trades by late April.
